I recently bought the Cybex Zeno as a jogging stroller and was shocked at how it exceeded my expectations!
Honestly, I was initially a little sceptical of its modern, futuristic look — a personal opinion only!
But I’m now a convert, especially on my daily runs when I take just one of my kids.
As a mom who owns far too many jogging strollers, I’ve tested out many over the years.
My ultimate opinion on the Cybex Zeno is:
- It’s incredibly lightweight!
- Very easy to steer
- Folds beautifully
- It is well crafted
- Definitely an ideal stroller for running (but NOT everyday)
- Great value for money

Using the Cybex Zeno Multisport for Running
The Cybex Zeno was designed with running in mind!
I find the overall lightweight aspect of the stroller makes it very easy to push and stay on track very well.
I love the wheel alignment dial adjustment, a game-changer for jogging strollers. More on this HERE!
Weight of the Cybex Zeno Multisport Trailer
The overall weight of the Cybex Zeno is 30.8lb (14kg), which is hefty if you’re comparing it to the lightweight Thule Urban Glide.
However, considering its multisport capabilities and the need for robustness, I think the weight is justified.
This stroller is also a dream to push uphill, due to its large wheels and long wheelbase.
Maneuverability of this Pushchair
With a fixed front wheel, it’s obvious that the Cybex Zeno is not your everyday stroller.
As a stroller designed specifically for running, it takes very little effort to turn and maneuver which is a huge plus for me. The large wheels also help with its movability.
I find the stroller easy to correct when I need to adjust my direction or turn.
How to turn with a fixed wheel jogging stroller
Turning corners with a fixed wheel can take a bit of getting used to.
You need to lift the front wheel off the ground to turn.
To turn while jogging, just push down on the handle and turn, and the front wheel lifts very easily.
Handbrake on the Cybex Zeno
I’ll be frank here. The handbrake on the Cybex Zeno is as good as useless!
I live on a very steep hill and find it does very little to slow the stroller when jogging.
However, the stroller is very lightweight. I find I can hold the stroller back with my own strength, rather than relying on the handbrake.
If you’re after a stroller with a good handbrake, I’d recommend Thule.
There is a brake on the right wheel which works well to lock the stroller in place.
Folding & Transporting
Once folded, the Cybex fits easily into the trunk of my car, with room to spare!
I was impressed with how compact the stroller folded when I first saw it.

How to adjust the front wheel on Cybex Zeno to stop it pulling to one side
One feature I particularly love on the Zeno is the dial on the front wheel. This works to adjust the wheel and stop the stroller from pulling to one side.
If you feel your stroller is pulling to the left, simply wind the dial a little to the right.
Do the opposite if it is pulling to the right. It may need to make a couple of adjustments to get it correct.
Harness on the Cybex Zeno
The padded five-point harness on the Zeno is very comfortable for kids, however I don’t love the clipping mechanism.
It was confusing initially but it has got better over time now I’ve used the harness more.
It has two clips per side which need to be inserted into the center buckle, and I find it challenging to get the two clips to line up.
Storage on the Cybex Zeno
The storage is limited on the Zeno stroller. There is a small pocket at the back, which fits a water bottle, phone, and a light jacket if you’re lucky.
The in-build phone pocket at the back is pretty snug, so it may not fit some of the larger devices.
There are two internal storage pockets on each side of the seat. I think these pockets are pretty tight for a kid to stow their water bottle by themselves, which is a downside.
I like the fact that fewer storage options mean a lighter stroller perfect for running.
However, if you were to use this stroller in a cooler climate and need to shed extra layers like coats and hats, I think you would struggle to know where to store your items.
Sunshield and Rain Covers
The mesh cover on the Cybex Zeno stroller is a great feature. It fully covers the cabin without compromising visibility for your child.
There is a sunshield which can be pulled down to block the sun.
However, my child doesn’t appreciate it and would rather prefer the blinding sun!
To this date, we haven’t had to use the rain cover. There is nowhere to store it in the stroller, so it would need to be attached over the cabin before you leave for a jog.
Other cool features I love
The see-through panel on the top of the stroller is a bonus to see what your child is up to.
The cover can be fully unzipped and washed which is just about unheard of for most strollers out there!
Handsfree Running Option for the Cybex Zeno
The Hands-free running option for the Zeno stroller (pictured above) has sadly been discontinued by Cybex.

Bike Kit Option for the Cybex Zeno multisport
The Cybex Zeno is a multisport trailer, meaning it can also be used for cycling if you purchased the cycling kit.
The cycling kit includes a cycling drawbar, hitch, safety flag, and rear light.
The Zeno has an adaptor point underneath which makes changing from jogging stroller to cycling trailer effortless.
Who is the Cybex Zeno for?
This multisport stroller is designed for active parents. If you want to run a lot with your child or use it for other sports activities like cycling or skiing, this offers great value for money.
The Cybex Zeno is designed for the odd-jog or everyday use due to its large size and lack of storage.
It is also great for parents who are very different in heights.
The cockpit can be lowered which makes it exceptionally good for short parents looking for a running stroller.
The handlebar is also highly adjustable, making it great for taller parents.
Before buying the Cybex Zeno
Just a heads up if you do decide to purchase the Zeno stroller. It is often sold in two parts: as a frame and then the seat.
This is confusing, and I’ve noticed from reviews that a few people have bought the frame thinking they were getting a great deal on the whole frame.

My final thoughts
The Cybex Zeno is perfect for the activities it’s been designed for. It gets top marks from me as a smooth and sleek jogging stroller.
It is the best jogging stroller for families wanting to include their kids in more activities like cycling and skiing.
The overall price of the Cybex Zeno can be expensive. However, I purchased mine on an excellent special (50% off!) which made it very worthwhile.
